In northern Mallorca, surrounded by mountains and the tranquillity of a protected valley, La Samantina began with a guiding principle: to transform a place without erasing its memory.

Developed by Minimal Studio, the project reinterprets traditional Mallorcan architecture through a contemporary lens. The intervention preserves the home’s material character, proportions and historic relationship with the landscape, distilling the architecture to its essential elements so that light, views and surroundings take centre stage.

Natural stone, handcrafted finishes and brass treated through oxidation form an honest, timeless palette of materials. Inside, the staircase becomes a sculptural element connecting the different levels of the home, while the spaces maintain a continuous dialogue between indoors and outdoors.

At SCENA, we approached the lighting, home automation and audiovisual system with the same commitment to integration.

The lighting design complements the architecture and its materials, revealing textures, volumes and the home’s different atmospheres without disrupting the natural perception of the space.

The home automation system is built around Basalte, bringing control of the home into a discreet interface that feels consistent with the interior design. The audiovisual system, developed with Bang & Olufsen, makes sound and entertainment a natural part of the architecture, enriching the experience of the space through a technological presence that is discreet, elegant and fully integrated.

The result is a home in which architecture, lighting and technology work as a single system. Technology is present when needed and disappears when it is not: an interpretation of our Living Technology concept that is closely connected to the essence of La Samantina.
